In the early 1940's our grandfather, German immigrant Robert Mrohs Sr. was employed by a Crisfield MD based natural gas manufacturing facility owned by the Crisfield Power and Light Co. The company was purchased by the Crisfield Shore Gas Co. better known today as Suburban Propane. Their goal was to convert the aging pipeline infrastructure to propane tank and cylinder service. Shortly after the acquisition Robert Mrohs was laid off which lead him to open his own propane business, Mrohs City Gas Co in 1948. He serviced the Crisfield community throughout the 1950's until his untimely death in 1961. Second generation family members Robert Mrohs Jr. and Jeanette Mrohs Ward operated the business until the early 1970's. Today the tradition continues with third generation family members.
Since our early days as a small town gas company we have grown exponentially by expanding our service area to other areas of the eastern shore. We have opened propane distribution plants strategically located in Pocomoke, Princess Anne and Eden MD. Although our office is still in Crisfield, we are capable of conveniently supplying your propane needs anywhere within the Tri County area of Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties, lower Sussex County Delaware and the northern part of Virginia's eastern shore.
Throughout our history our goals have remained the same, to deliver value, top-tier propane products, competitive pricing and most important, reliable customer service.
